Third Sunday of Advent

Our Advent series continues. Our theme this week is “Be amazed: Joy in the desert.” Pastor Barb will preach on Isaiah 55: 1–13.
She writes, “After years of longing, the view of things for the people of God risks becoming constricted. Their hope diminishes, making it increasingly difficult for them to see past the present moment. Isaiah is tasked with relaying to them a vision of God’s provision and promise. His message has an expansive quality and effect. Amazement does this. God’s covenant is everlasting (55:3, 13), and God’s ‘ways higher than your ways’ (55:9).”
During fellowship time, we’ll enjoy monkey bread prepared by our Venture Club.
