Palm Sunday: Dwelling in Dissonance

Our service will begin with the traditional palm processional. Pastor Barb will preach on John 12: 12–27 and 19: 16b–22. She writes, “Many traditions celebrate this Sunday as Palm Sunday during which we remember Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Other traditions observe it as Passion Sunday in which Jesus’ crucifixion is recognized. This Lent we hold these two observances together acknowledging their dissonance and contemplating the qualities of Jesus who reveals God’s true nature to us.”
