Anabaptist World Fellowship Sunday

Where to begin? 🙂 Our worship service’s primary focus will be on the 500th anniversary of Anabaptism and Anabaptist World Fellowship Sunday. Pastor Barb will preach on Luke 4:14-30, and 1 Corinthians 3:11. She writes: “The 1 Corinthians verse is understood to be Menno Simons’ favorite. Building our foundation on Jesus, we will also include Jesus’ first sermon…It is MLK weekend too, which fits nicely with the scriptures. Our stories shape our identity. Both biblical stories and the stories from our Anabaptist history.”
Our service will include excerpts from The Mennonite Piano Concerto, written by Victor Davies to commemorate the 450th anniversary in 1975. During the Sunday school hour, Karin Redekopp Edwards will share more about the work, its origin, and the hymns it contains.
