Looking Ahead to the 2025–2026 Sunday School Year!
Elise Ewert
We are excited to launch a new Sunday school year filled with opportunities for learning, fellowship, and growth across all ages.

The adult classes will kick off with guest speaker Dr. Tony Deik, a Palestinian theologian and professor. Highlights later in the fall will include a presentation from Dave M. on his delegation to Palestine, a class from Aaron L. about the Jewish contexts of the Gospels, a Membership class, and a presentation from Pastor Nathan on the Anabaptist relationship with Christmas. The Bible in a Year class will continue to meet weekly. Pastor Nathan is also working to schedule a presentation or activity with the Jeeran group.
The MYF (high school youth group) will be one of the pilot groups for REACH, the new youth curriculum by SHINE at MennoMedia! They will be testing a six-week unit called Whole People, Holy People: Faith and Mental Health. Not only will our youth have the opportunity to provide feedback to the folks at MennoMedia, but they will finally have access to Mennonite youth materials written in this century (the stuff they’ve been working with came out in the 90s).
Beyond the classroom, the group will enjoy a variety of social and service activities. Community building will be especially important as the group prepares for next summer’s international service and learning trip. Additional teachers are needed to rotate into MYF classes and activities—please contact Elise E., Adrien H., or Chris E. if you’d like to be part of this exciting ministry.
The Venture Club (junior high youth group) is looking forward to time together on Sunday mornings and getting to know the three new members of the class. They will be using the MennoMedia SHINE curriculum, starting with Psalms and then exploring Exile and Restoration (Kings through Ezra). Special events include a fall outing (details coming soon) and the annual December lock in complete with homemade monkey bread. To fully support the group, the Venture Club would love a third teacher (ideally male, to balance overnight and group activities). If you’re interested, please reach out to Elise E., Melissa M., or Alice K.

The primary grades Sunday School classes (preschool through 5th grade) will also use the SHINE curriculum. The first unit explores the Psalms under the theme Calling on God, followed by Exile and Restoration. To fully staff these classes, we still need at least two more teachers. Teaching Sunday school is a meaningful way to connect with families in the congregation—please prayerfully consider helping! Contact Elise E. if you are interested.
The nursery continues to provide care during both the worship service and Sunday school hour for children ages two and under. With several faithful volunteers heading off to college, we are seeking new helpers to join the rotation so we can sustain this vital ministry without overburdening current volunteers. If you would like to serve in this way, please reach out to Elise E.
Phase Four Campaign a Resounding Success
Evan Richards

Our LMC congregation responded to our Renew. Restore. Rejoice! capital campaign by rocking it out of the park. Thanks to your generosity, dedication, and support, we not only reached our campaign goal but far exceeded it. Over 50 households came together and made financial commitments totaling over $402,000!
Every gift, big or small, played a vital role in this achievement. The number of participants is just as impressive as the total amount raised; it’s a testament to the strength of our community.
Surpassing our campaign goal is a tremendous blessing. Since we don’t yet know what the bids for various stages of the project will come in at, the additional funds will be a great help in maintaining flexibility and preparing for any surprises in this multi-year project.
The Capital Campaign Committee now hands things over to the capable leadership of the Phase 4 Implementation Group: Jeremy K. and the Administration Commission, along with the series of sub-committees focusing on energy efficiency, the education wing, and the parking lot. They will oversee and implement the project. (You’ll still hear from us periodically with updates on the total amount given and the percentage we are to our goal.)

Thank you all again for your tremendous support. We’re excited to be moving forward together!
